It's been almost seven months since I last trout fished, due to the heat, low water and then freezing temps. I got out yesterday for a few hours and it was like having to learn how to fish all over again. Sucks getting old when you can't easily remember how to tie simple knots after only being away from it for half a year.
Anyway, I finally made my way through the foggy Pocono mountains without a wreck and came out the other side to partly sunny skies. The water was cold, 48 deg. and a little higher than I would have liked it to be for the location I was fishing. I managed to put eight fish in the net from 13 -17 inches. Not a killer showing but not a skunking either. I fished until about 2 pm and did not see even any midges hatching. Hopefully it will be a longer fishing season this year.
