I like game, deer, elk, buffalo, pheasant, boar, but the two times I have had bear stew (at a game dinner in NYC by professional cheifs) I decide there wouldn't be a 3rd time. The first time was a very fancy vegitable and bear stew, and the second was bear and elk stew...it ruined the elk!

The fund raiser was held at the Trifacta(spelling) Grill, its part owned by
Robert De Niro. A Hollywood actor selling game dinners who'da thought!

It tastes a lot like roast beef if done properly. I've eaten it several times and enjoyed it. Even successfully took a bear as kid on a spring bear hunt up in New Brunswick, Canada. Got it hunting from the ground with a 12 gauge, one shot at barely 10 yards. I was 14 and my heart was pounding with nervous excitement!
