Phil at it again, what do you know?

very crowded. Floated pineville to 2a on saturday and the whole stretch was packed, also with these flows there is not much "b" water worth fishing so floating wasn't really an advantage. You got your 1st morning spot and the rest of the day involved floating through areas filled with people and nothing worth fishing beyond those occupied areas. Fishing was also slow in general, had to cut our losses down river and fight the crowds upstream. Will be giving the river a break for a couple weeks and hope flows improve, or atleast crowds decrease as things get colder. This was perhaps the toughest fishing I've seen up there, but getting out and getting a few fish is always better than staying home.

I got tired of the crowds when I was home and went elsewhere. The fishing was better there too.

Nice pics Beeber! Glad to see you guys got into some more fish yesterday..

Here are some that i took..

Saturday was pretty damn slow... But it was pretty fun floating down the SR for my first time. Besides the asshole guides and the one random douche bag telling us we shouldnt float in front of him as he's standing ten feet from shore.... fucking imbicile..... Most of the other people were pretty decent to us as we floated on by. And JC is a great rowing coach!! I appreciate it bro!

Heres JC with a nice domestic Bow caught on the move..

Phil chillin in his looney toon..

Sunday morning we locked down the riffle below paradise, heres Phil with a solid hook up..

Fishing was slow so me and JC decided to move up river. I landed a decent steelie around 7-8lbs but didnt get any pics, the fish took me down river about 100 yards and i had to revive it.. I didnt deem it nessicary to risk the mortality of the fish...

A little while later JC had a fish on just below where i caught mine..

404625846-1.jpg

Poor fish was lookin pretty beat-up..

404625854-1.jpg

After that we went down to the LFZ, fishing pressure was pretty heavy. I hooked up with a small fish for a few seconds, caught 2 salmon smolts (on beads LOL) and that was about it for me..

But my homie JC brought in a stellar chromer!

The fight..

Even tough the fishing wasnt up to par, i still had fun getting away for the weekend.

Good company = Good times...

Already looking forward to next years bash!

It was a harsh reality going back to work this week and I've been slammed...I have some pics to add and report

In spite of many issues leading up to the event, the BASH still went down. I'm not sure exactly what defines a "BASH" but for the 4-5 of us there it was a good time.
I get a text from Simms on Wed. morning saying he can't make it. Sue at Cannon's was really cool about taking care of us and consolidated our group into the apartment. We had plenty of room and were hooked up for the long weekend...

Beeber picked me up at my house Thursday night...his car was packed to the gills.

FlyI4/JC met us in the early am on Friday. We were able to find some room around Ellis but the fishing was slow.

With no real morning bite, we decided to move around.

Twism spotting
BeeberFlyITwism.jpg

Settled in for lunch and a few beers to warm up...oh yea it was pretty cold out!
My buddy who was up earlier in the week was killing it in the lower river...we headed down low for some evening action but it was slow again...
JC is a high sticking maniac and got several hookup's throughout the day (this is an ongoing trend). Beeber hooked a handful and I only managed a couple quick head shakes...
2012-11-12064.jpg

Headed back to the pad...JC set the vise up. He's got a funky tying style, I wasn't used to seeing a lefty tie but also wrapping toward yourself...the steelies didn't mind though

Troutguy shows up later on Friday night...

We decided to float on Saturday to hopefully get away from the crowds. We floated through a bunch of popular spots that were packed with people. The other areas didn't produce well (better with more water, in my experience) so it was a kind of a waste of time. My pics from that day didn't seem to upload so this'll have to do...
TG has a cool, 2 man driftboat...the boat launch is optional btw

Day 3 we had to assemble the troops for combat...and lock down a run early. It wasn't a stellar morning but we got into some action...

JC is machine...I'm pretty sure I caught him comtemplating sleeping in his waders...it was good to have a motivator though. If you slacked off your chances were slim in these conditions.

Lynch arrived Saturday night...fished the DSR on Sunday which was slow as well. Flies were tied, beer and scotch was flowing..Stefano's has bangin chicken parms...
IMG_0093.jpg

D'angler also stopped by for a few to talk shop....we were going to join in the fire ring but everyone started passing out shortly thereafter...we'll have to catch up again man.

The final day we locked down another popular spot and it paid off...lots of action for all and many fish landed...

A couple of things.

Is beeber wearing flower PJ bottoms?

Are you guys drinking Long trail in the twism pic?

What kind of bourbon is JC sippin' on?

On a scale from 0-Elton John, how gay is Trout Guy?

No, those are not flower pants, they are worse. It's an old pair of Buffalo Bills sweat pants. At least they weren't footies.

In the twism pic that is a Yards IPA, and a fine beer it was. Thanks Phil. The homebrewed octoberfest wasn't too shabby either.

Phil brought scotch too, that's what JC is having. Bless you Phil.

CTob yes a truck would be great, and a drift boat too. I don't see either happening anytime soon.

Just start collecting money to donate to "charity". The charity in question can be the BBT an DB foundation for the study of aquatic scaled species and how they react to outside stimulation.
