NEFF is always a great site to get volunteers out to the river for this event and others:
Please come out for the annual Musconetcong River clean up on Saturday, April 12th from 9 am - noon. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided along with bottled water for our volunteers. Choose from one of three meeting locations: 1) Sand Bar Park/Alumni Field off Willow Grove Street (just north from route 46/Main Street) on the upper river, 2) Hampton Borough Park just below rt. 31 in Hampton Borough off Park Drive, or 3) at the old Hughesville paper mill on Cypher's Road near its intersection with route 627 (Riegelsville Warren Glen Road). Please contact Brian Cowden, Musconetcong Home Rivers Initiative Coordinator if you can help on that day at: BCowden@tu.org
For the record, I will be leading the northern site location as usual. We meet at the Hackettstown site. I could use a few pickup trucks and/or smaller trailers to remove some couches and other large debris dumped at Penwell above the Point Mountain TCA this year. But volunteers can drive to any of the 3 main meeting locations and get engaged there.
Bring your fishing gear and plan to fish after the work is done! Our Hendrickson mayflies should be hatching by then in the afternoon.
