Plenty of spots to meet and give the Musky watershed a hand on Saturday morning. I head up our Hackettstown area efforts for the Musconetcong Watershed Association's annual river clean up. It is inspiring to see over 400 volunteers out each year cleaning the river, its banks and surrounding road sides from debris that all winds up in our rivers. This Saturday we meet at 9 am at Hackettstown's Alumni Field/San Bar Park off Willow Grove (which is a short distance off rt. 46/Main St. by the Hess station) under the tall pine trees near the pavilion. Garbage bags, coffee and donuts and bottled water will be provided. Please bring waders (hip or chest) and a pair of gloves. We work until noon and then groups often break off to fish the river nearby or wander well downstream. Then again, the Pump House Restaurant serves a mean burger and has some great beers on tap...
Saw some big Quill Gordons coming off yesterday with some egg laying LBS and some caddis. I even saw a single rise. Bring your rods for after the work. Your waders are already on.
