A Quest for Brook trout

Trout Guy

Brookie's or Bust!
This past weekend I spent some time fishing a few small streams in the Catskills.

Shits been busy at work, so I took the opportunity to get out and pick on some wild Brookies..

Excuse the poor picture quality, forgot my camera at home..

I fished a small stream, literally stuffed to the gills (pun inteneded) with small brook trout.

Few samples..

Spent some time on another nearby stream before I headed to the another Beamoc trib.

Caught a few nice scrappy browns there.

Ended my night pretty well with a few more fish..

Nice fish.......
I hope you were using bamboo and some snooty Hardy reel with a silk line, and of course Catskill dries only.......:)

I didn't really read the post.

I went straight to the pictures.

Beautiful.

Then I read the post and wondered where you were.

Let me suggest a few spots to you if you're interested.

This spot can't be burnt.

The hike in is several miles.

I have never seen anyone there...

Take Pflugerville Road and park by the bridge on the upper most stretches of the willow. There is a trailhead there leading to a beautiful section of Butternut Brook.

Beautiful brook trout stream, my favorite in the Catskills.
