A blue line in the Connecticut Wilds

BRK TRT

Small stream, wild trout flyfisher
It has been some time since my last post. Here is a little adventure on a small stream in the wilds of northern Connecticut.

We had several rain events including tropical storm Arthur which came on the 4th of July. This rain brought the levels of this blue line to great fishing. The brook trout were very willing to take a dry fly.

This stream has a very high gradient with some awesome boulders. These provide some element of cover, which is welcomed. But rock hopping with 68 year old legs make things a little rough.

This wild jewel took a stimulator. Many of the pools gave up several trout.

Lots of wild beauty along the stream.

This run/pool with its cool ice tea waters gave up many brookies.

The brookies in this stream also favored the mini muddler.

A fine few hours spent this day.

Beautiful.

These streams will be the only games in town after this warm spell.

68 years old? Merely a drop in the bucket.

I took water temps all along the stream......64-66.
