The First Lunar Landing

Ah yes, it was the summer of 69...oh, yea.

Good tune Tomk. I saw Bryan Adams open for The Kinks (I was there for The Kinks) at the Meadowlands Arena. Poor guy had hardly anyone listening to him, but he eventually did OK for himself.

Great post Sib. July 20th always means moon landing day to me. Watched every launch that I could growing up. It's 43 years later, and I still think that landing on the moon is the most amazing thing ever accomplished. Talk about over-reaching with 1960's technology, and then pulling it off because we invented the future in the process. Just incredible.

Buzz Aldrin is one tough guy. About 10 years ago, some guy who was one of those "moon landing was a hoax" conspiracy theorists, sandbagged Aldrin into a confrontation. The guy called Aldrin a coward and a liar, and Buzz just socked him right in the jaw. The guy was in his 30's and pretty big too; whereas none of the astronauts were physically big. It was a requirement that you had to be under 6 feet tall to qualify because you had to fit into some pretty confined places. None of that mattered to Buzz. He popped him pretty good.
