Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

What's wrong with people?

So now humans are compared to insects. With that said, it is not surprising the way human life can be so easily dismissed.

insects is generous comparison. cliche as it is, i'd say we're more akin to a virus.

Nobody rightly considers a baby to be a fetus after birth.

Lets look at the dictionary....

fe·tus

ˈfēdəs/

noun

an unborn offspring of a mammal, in particular an unborn human baby more than eight weeks after conception.

A fetus is still a human being regardless of what you want to name it. Fetus is latin for baby.

at the risk of adding something productive to a political thread on a fly fishing forum...feel free to read (or not) these:

Liberal or conservative, Democrat or republican.......politician is a dirty word in my book.....we need people as leaders, not political puppets for the wealthy.....Democrats play the game a little better than the republicans, but as far as I am concerned they can all got to the deepest depth of the ocean and eat shit.....I was gonna say go to hell, but we all know where that would have gone.....:)

Well I think that while you guys are debating religion and politics, I'm going to the Big P for an hour or so and fish for pikes.

I know you were just kidding when you posted this as some valid example of support for PBA.

Why is this funny? I mean do you have a clue as to what the position of groups like planned parenthood is on PBA. I doubt any of you that are commenting on this have one clue. I got into earlier with beetle on this and he was incredulous that I suggested the president then senator sctually argued against a law that protected babies outside the womb.

I admit I don't know the PP stance, but I have a problem with "unbiased studies" like that of any kind. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed that those kids that signed the petition had not one clue as to what they were signing. They were all more interested in the phone they were talking or texting on. And to approach a girl and lead them to believe that they were signing something to empower women and not having a clue what it was, well I just don't think it was well done and was leading. Seemed that anyone that actually took the time to read the paper said they wouldn't sign.
That's why I thought it was funny.

Why is this funny?

It's funny because it is obviously a ludicrous non-issue invented to incite controversy. Without doing any research on the subject, I am more than comfortable making the blanket statement that no reputable or marginally reputable group is advocating for the right to abort 4-year-olds.

Actually, you're right...it's not funny at all...because all these bullshit banal over-the-top moral-emotional appeals only serve to divide people further and take away from the real issues where there is actually potential for progress. These are the exact types of things that help perpetuate the status quo of the current system that you seem so malcontent with.

Well said, eddavidson.

I think you are focused on a very small party of the video. More importantly there is a serious issue with the topic. About 15k partial birth abortions occur every year and laws attempting to ensure a born alive baby is cared for are routinely opposed by very relevant and powerful groups like planned parenthood. Now the
The last 2 elections have centered around social issues like this if you don't know
Think it's important you are kidding yourself. The 2012 democratic platform made this a centerpiece. They featured speakers from planned parenthood and now and Sandra fluke who claims she can't afford Her own birth control and what's you to pay for it. Yeah I'm equally appalled by the old fits in the Republican Party who think a woman can naturally stop a child from being born if they have been raped. But this topic seems to be one of common sense to me. Rather then react to the video as if it's impossible why not just say it would make a logo finesse if a child is actually born in spite of an attempted abortion we try to nurture he or she. Why would snyone oppose that measure?

And as an aside its clear there are college age students who read this and thought no big deal. So that in and of itself is disconcerting

When they're about 7 or so you can make Alex Kitner flys out of them and go to Amity for the great white run right around Independence Day.

Rape issue aside. Thats not Planned parenting. Thats planning nothing, just taking care of irresponsibility.
