Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

what do you wear

I'm a solid Simms guy. About to buy my third pair. I'm tough on them and in them year round, dragging plants up and down stream, fixing wire cages around the plants, fishing, guiding, watching river restoration contract work being done, performing stream assessments, etc. I still have my first pair as back ups. My current pair don't leak, but the gravel guards are getting worn out and the foot seams are beginning to show wear. But they're dry!

what waders do you where? why? and what type of waders would you want to get next?

Currently Im rocking the Simms freestone waders, so far they're holding strong. I fell down a steep bank and punctured them over the summer, but it was a quick fix with the UV wader shit.

I've had Hodgemann, Frogg Toggs and the nicer Cabelas waders; they all didn't last more than one season...

Also reccomend the Simms freestone boots, awesome for hiking in.

I wear garbage bags taped around my legs for hip waders and for chest waders, i just a blue tarp. :)

And when JU is done fishing he makes sure he puts the blue tarp back on his roof. I bought a pair of the Orvis packable waders a couple years back, I love them. I also wear a pair of Red Ball hippers. Longest lasting waders I ever had were a pair of $89 white river cheapo lightweight waders, they weren't pretty I abused them, showed them no love and they lasted a long time. But in fairness some of you boobs get out on the water more often in 1 year than i do in 5 or more, I also never fish in cold weather. And on very hot days I opt for an open toe pump with a wedge rubber sole, and an old pair of Daisy Dukes.

My current winter ensemble is Redington Sonci Pro with zipper. Korkers boots with the boa lacing system. Dark Olive three button sweater from Cabelas with wind shear.

summer are my Simms G3 with Simms River shed

Red Ball Masters, over thirty years old, NEVER leaked.

When guys who complain about pin holes after a year, or brag about waders that last 5 years, tell me to "upgrade".... I laugh..

I wear Pro guides from cabelas. They have served me well and I will continue to use them. I believe that you can get a quality wader from just about anyone. Its just some companies have better odds that you will get a quality pair. :)

Nothing...nothing at all, except my fanny pack and a net...keeps the crowds away....I enjoy solitude whilst on the water....

Where do you hang your net? I think i can imagine where when there is another man fishing near you but what about when you are all alone?

And solitude you will have unless your fishing the surf off Fire Island or the Delaware by New Hope

Simms G3's, because I have never had a seam failure on any Simms wader, I have NEVER had to send them back for repairs, next pair will be Simms

You have to go fishing for them to have a chance to leak.

i just ordered a pair of Simms G3 waders and a new guide jacket. The comfort and durability of their products is hands down the best. Not only that, but their customer service is remarkably good.

I have the freestone waders still which i used for 3 years (still great and my backup ) fishing 50-100 days a year both fresh and saltwater along with the guide boots which i continue to use.

If all goes accordingly, il be employed in boulder CO come may which is why i made the investment in the gear.

I use Cabalas 3mm neoprene. They are good waders. My knees can not take the cold anymore. My knees took too many shots from playing Pop Warner and High school football. I was probably the smallest D-linemen and fullback in the history of the game. I was small but fast. On the D-line I could hit the gap before those big O-linemen could get out of their stance. They laughed at me before the game. I was the one laughing at the end of the game. When I graduated High school I was 5’1” and weighed 100 lbs spoken wet. Neoprene waders are a small price to pay for the enjoyment I had playing youth football. No politician has the right to take that away.

I wet wade in the summer with some quick dry pants that can be converted into shorts. For some reason when flyfishing i try to wet wade as much as possible if I have to be in the water.

In cold water I use redhead neoprene waders.

This spring/summer when in less classy water I will use rubber hip waders.

For trout fishing during normal trout season: Redington Sonic Seam Zip front or Simms G3 Guide pants. I had the first gen G4's, while bulletproof, the 5 layers waist down was too damn hot. I am really impressed with the Redington's for the money. They have traveled and fished in Oregon, Maine and countless locations in NY with no problems. I would not hesitate to buy them all over again.

I used to wade naked but one time i looked down and there were 3 turtles sunning on my wanker. The dang things thought it was log. Havent done it since

You forgot to take you magnifier glasses off, they were ladybugs.
