West Branch of Delaware water level

millrun

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
Does anyone know why the water level on the West Branch of the Delaware is currently at 163 CFS. Is it because of the storm or just the normal mysterious wasy of the Rivermaster?

cpi?

Its Hanna. They wouldn't have cut it back as Montague would have needed the water. Although, NOAA indicates that it's looking like Hancock and Deposit may miss most of the percip. They are at the edge. All depends on the proverbial track ot the storm.

Fred,

Lake Wallenpaupack began generation again. The Montague target gauge reached 2,600 cfs. There is a planned 1,200 cfs boating release from Lake Wallenpaupack for today. Currently the Montague target gauge is at 2,000 cfs. USGS Real-Time Water Data for USGS 01438500 Delaware River at Montague NJ

They don't need the water. Check out the gauge. They kept it in the 1,800 cfs area, then as soon as Wallenpaupack began operating again, shut off the flow. Nothing to do with Hanna.

JoeD is correct. This is not a Hannah reaction. A 5" rainstorm won't cause serious flooding up there, but a second big storm could be an issue such as if we see big rains from Ivan later next week. What you are seeing now is the FFMP and a PP&L release from the lake.

So what does that mean for future releases? Or is it anyones guess?

If you read the FFMP plan, you'll understand the releases, there is no guess work. You won't like them, but you will at least be able to understand them. All this comes to a head on Sept. 24th when the Decree parties meet to approve or reject the FFMP interim plan.
