Bill,
The Wallkill river by far, is the best carp river in the northeast. It is a big river which flows from northeast New Jersey north into Orange County, New York. The spot that I fish is in the town of Walden. It is about 75 miles from Brooklyn but it is worth the trip. The river is wide, easily wadeable as long as there has not been recent heavy rains. When the river is up it's hard to find the carp. The river has plenty of fish in the 10-20 pound range and you can walk along and spot their tales as they nose around. Directions are easy or you can call me 845-323-9294
