MACFLY
Too many streams too little time
Did a float on the upper west branch Tuesday. River was high as we put in above barking dog. Started out with streamers and my brother nailed a nice brown within the first 30 min. Overcast day to start and was hoping it would stay that way but we got bright sun around noon that slowed up the start of bugs hatching and fish rising . Brother got another nice rainbow on a perdigon nymph. Started seeing targets around 3pm with steady actions for the next 2 hours. Mix of Hendricksons, caddis, blue quills. They were keyed on the Hendricksons for the most part. Weather started getting a bit sh!tty and we picked back up with streamers. About an hour before takeout found a big brown feeding in a side cove in fairly deep water. Put a bunch of solid drifts over him with different flies but he was having none of it. Rain came down hard for about 10 min then we got ahead of it and got off the river before it turned ugly. Great day in the river and stoked my brother got into some good fish
