Water conditions of the lehigh by white haven

It's a non-whitewater release weekend, so normally the release should be conducive to wading. However, the lower river received a ton of rain this week but I'm not sure if the FEW Reservoir and White Haven area was inundated with the same amount. Check out www.thelehighriver.org and scroll down the main page for the current FEW release. If the release is over 300-400cfs I'd forget about wading the river below the dam.
It was 300 all week but I think they're dumping from the overnight rainfall so as of 10:30AM it was 506cfs. Check it tonight to see if it drops back to 300. I think it will be 300 for the weekend, I know I was thinking of fishing it myself Saturday so I'm paying attention to it as well.

was the dogs first time at the cabin and could not get her out of the water. my daughter learned how to kayak in the pond behind the cabin this property is what I have worked hard for we have a stream that holds natives all year round god fishing. Was hot ass hell all weekend but the nights were chilly and smoes fr the kids.
Looks like you had a great time with the family at your cabin. I fished the Lehigh in White Haven on Saturday morning. After trying to be the first in the parking lot, I was beaten by one car and ended up fishing behind two other flyfishers. The river was running a bit higher and off-color and I couldn't quite reach some of my favorite pools and pockets but I managed 4 fish on the morning- 2 feisty browns and 2 little smallies. The fishing wasn't fast and furious or even steady but I was happy. Hey it's August right? (the other guys said they caught several trout and smallies as well.)
The pulloff at Black Creek(Hayes) was packed so I turned around grabbed lunch at Carmines Pizza and then decided to explore some new water and hiked into Nescopeck Creek but didn't fish long due to the effin' skeeters! Drove back down towards Albrightsville and decided to drive the very narrow dirt track down to the mouth of Drakes Creek- Great some solitude! I rigged up & was walking down to fish the river when two trucks pulled up and out plopped a 4 folks, including a good ol' country boy w/ his unleashed pit bull. They ran down ahead of me to the water. Dog looked like he was probably friendly I but decided against testing the theory or dealing with the commotion. It was after 5PM and I was exhausted anyway. On the way home I stopped and hiked to the top of a wooded property I'm considering purchasing for my own cabin! Saw signs of deer, bear, and turkey!

I might have seen you on the stream, the cabin is about 20 mins outside white have. I saw some people on the lehigh early saturday. the water behind the cabin was very stained. I love the pizza from Carmines, and also the wings from the east side inn. I will be going back up in a few weeks when it cools down..
First time for me at Carmine's and I'll be back too. Nice little place named for the late son- a US Marine KIA I believe. I had the cheesesteak with the works which included sauce- mouthwatering good! I haven't tried the East Side Inn or the Ugly Mug yet for that matter- this fall perhaps. I parked at the lot under Route 80 and hiked down past the trestle and walked into the river from there and then fished back upstream and around the island just upstream of the I-80 bridge- wished I had kept going but didn't realize the other two anglers were about to quit and come back downstream. Yeah- I can't wait until it starts to cool down up there- the fishing will get much better once again.
Don't even try the ugly mug it was a great place and they sold 2 yrs ago the new owner fired all the staff and changed the recipes. Now it is horrible, they gravy fries ruled now the worst I have ever had. Carmines was a mexican place that served pizza I only found it because Anthony's was closed on Sunday. Capone's bar is good for a cold beer after fishing the lehigh. My place is close to penn lake. I fish where you are talking about all the time. also below the dam, hickory run and the tannery nice little water fall there. ever try the other side below 80? there is a parking lot next to the railroad tracks, you can drive right down th the river but every time I have been there it's been muddy and a big incline. Maybe we can hook up in the fall always looking to head out with someone. The Evening Hatch has hooked me up with some good spots I can't mention here.

Yes, we definitely should fish together. I have not fished some of the spots you listed.
I got a good heads up from a guide friend of mine and scouted a spot upriver that you may or may not know of. Thanks for the heads up on the Ugly Mug and Capone's (I was thinking of stopping there too sometime.) I'll probably avoid the Mug now.
