Truform Fly Company

sorry to intrude...
I placed an order a couple of months ago for some Paul Weamer flies and hooks from website of Truform Fly Company. Check was cashed a month ago, but nothing did I receive in the mail. I'm just trying to sort this out, but having a hard time finding a phone number or e-mail on their website. Probably there is a good explanation for this mixup, but I was just wondering if anyone else out there have had dealings (good or bad or neutral) from the website (truformflies.com)

Paul has trademarked TruForm Flies. This I knew some time ago.

Paul has NOTHING to do with Truformflies.com.

Truformflies.com is owned by Larry Miri. They're located in Warwick, NY. Their phone # is 845 986 0473.

If anyone here has or is going to order flies from them, DON'T!

If you want to order flies, contact TCO flyshop in State College, or you can go to Montana Fly Co.

Larry has been sent 5 separate correspondence to cease and desist, which he has not done. Suing him is too expensive, Montana Flies will not foot the bill.

I've been waiting since 3/23/06(yeah, that's 2006) for a couple of special saltwater flies from Haboob.

Hey, given the turn this thread took( I thought that it was good-natured ribbing), I just want to be clear: I have never had any business dealings with the owner of the "truform" website; I can't speak to that.

The flies I intended to yank his chain on, were ones he tied, using some alpaca fiber that I had so graciously sent him to try out. Using the alpaca I sent him, he made some "Surf Candy" flies (I believe) that had worked well for him. He had said he would send a couple my way(I planned to display them, not use them)(Well, in truth, at the time, SOME people were warning of the DEATH OF THE D, and I contemplated being able to use them for Stripers up at Bard Parker in Hancock, but I digress...)

By now, the flies meant for me, are sure to have been torn to shreds by blues or otherwise rusting just off the beach in Jersey.

i've always wondered if people like this guy ever feel bad for ripping people off and besmirching the good name of others in the process...
 
I've edited a few post's here.

The first post edited... I removed Larry's place of employment. The second post I removed the items that said, "Larry's phone number is" and replaced it with the "Truform flies phone number is", which can be obtained by visiting the flyfishingconnection website therefore, it's not private information that one would be privy to.

As usual... If you have a problem with a vendor, I urge you to try your best to contact the vendor and see if you can resolve any issue via phone. If the vendor is not responsive or is unsupportive, you're more than welcome to drag their name through the mud as long as everything you say is factual.

I'm not going to defend Larry here but I will say that there are two sides to every story. If the vendor chooses to respond to a complaint than that's up to them. If they choose not to respond, than that's up to them as well. If an issue is resolved, then the thread will be closed and a brief summary of the resolution will be posted. Feel free to start another thread.

Of course we hope that your issues are resolved before it gets to this, but at times this is simply not the case. If you search through the threads, You'll see various complaints about some very popular company's. Most of them have been resolved.

I spoke with Larry about this issue this morning.

From what I'm told, the flies were ordered, and check was received about a week later. Once the check cleared, the flies were mailed out. Larry received a voice mail message from the thread starter stating that he had not received the flies. On Monday, before this thread was created, Larry mailed out the new batch of flies.

T1, did you receive the flies?

Yesterday (Friday), I received a complete replacement order (even some free postcards). I sincerely give thanks to each and everyone who made this possible.
