Trout Season Is Nearing It's Close.let The Hunting Of Deer Begin

Now that trout season is almost over,I go out to my shed and dust off my Bow.Alas, it was a fine trout season,I nailed many trout,I learned some new tricks,I made many mistakes,but I had a blast.Now in these fading days ,I look to the woods to fill my tag.

You're missing out on alot of fishing if you think trout season is almost over! Winter is one of my favorite times to fish because there aren't any crowds and the fishing isn't too shabby either.

If a stream closes, its closed! There are quite a few streams open year round. In NJ, a lot of the stocked streams are only closed for 3 weeksish in March/april.

The Ramapo in NY is open year round.

Other streams that have closed dates do so to protect spawning fish.

Fish, hunt, then go back to fishing!

Hope you get plenty of those furry bastards. They sure are cute, but are doing plenty of damage to our forests. For example, ground nesting birds are on the ropes in NJ from the near elimination of the native undergrowth plants.

So, I wish you extremely well in your deer hunting endeavors.

The season isn't over, it's just starting. I love to fish in the fall and winter, plenty of fish and not very many fisherman. I you get a deer early, grab that fly rod and give it a go!

Ok I just wacked a very respectful 6 point buck,on Long Island,my home,(with my bow) where can I nail some trout,I live for the outdoors,can anybody tell me some off season hot spots........thanks ........THE RAT.:devious: :dizzy:
