Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

TCO Fly shop online survey - don't waste your time.

Dries, wets, nymphs and streamers...it's all good!
So I just received an online survey from TCO fly shop. The email says if I complete the survey, I'll receive a $10 coupon. Thinking what the heck, they charge $9 shipping, if they have something I want, I can at least get it shipped for free.

All in all, I don't like the layout and navigation of their website, and for this, I seldom frequent their online store. Therefore, it's good they are doing surveys to receive customer feedback. Besides the layout, I'm not a big fan of their online shop in general as they are an MSRP store and charge an excessive amount for shipping. When they clearance items, they are not reduced as much as on other sites, so I hardly ever visit their site much less buy from them.

So I complete the survey..............at the end, it says here is your $10 code, which can only be used when purchasing $100 or more!! What crap, they should have stated this in the original email. Their shipping costs for orders over $100 are $10.95! The coupon doesn't even cover shipping. TCO aggravates me, and this manipulative way of getting people to complete a survey just is the icing on the cake. I will continue to buy the same stuff they sell, from Fishwest and use their free shipping and take advantage of their better sale items. Goodbye TCO. I'm glad I bought George Daniels book from Amazon instead of from your shop.

PS - Your shop on the Ausable River (Hungry Trout) is overpriced and sucks. Update your outside white marker board to accurate flow rates and fly hatches. You never have the flies that are hatching and always seem to be "ordering more". As one example, when I was there in June, the shop manager was preparing for whatever the upcoming hatch (Green Drake maybe?) in the next 2 weeks and was "stocking up" on flies. She only ordered 2 dozen in each size!!!!! That's it! I usually have more than that for each pattern and size with me on the river, let alone in a fly shop. Also, for 3 years straight you have not had an XL river/shop T-shirt in stock, but I don't want it anymore, I have a nice Twoflyshop shirt. I will however walk across your driveway when leaving the river after fishing down from up above.

Ok, I'm done..............
