MACFLY
Too many streams too little time
Back in 93 my oldest brother who was an avid fly fisherman and rock climber decided to move out west to Utah. About 6 months later I flew out to Utah while on leave and ww fished like absolute possessed mad men. The green, the Provo, the weber, as well as a doze different streams out of the uintahs. It was an awesome experience. My brother had purchased an apartment in Park city and in June of that year there was still snow on the peaks. The rivers were just clearing from runoff. I saw some phenomenal scenery and fished some incredibly beautiful water. I returned to Utah several times times during the 90s and branched out each time to Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, & Colorado. I was fortunate to fish some of the most beautiful places in North America and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity. I took my future wife out to Utah to meet my brother and of course to fish in 2001. Since then the opportunities to fish with my brother have slowly dwindled. This makes me even more appreciative of the opportunity I had.
One of the streams we fished that first year was Wild strawberry. A small tailwater stream that flows through some remote and scenic country. We csight plenty of fish and rarely saw other fisherman. One part of the stream flows through a place called the pinnacles. Its fairly remote with only rough diet roads for access and sandstone cliffs as a backdrop. I fell in love with the water which while small was amazing in its abundance of fish and insects and forage fish.
In a few week I will get a day with my brother on Wild strawberry. I look forward to seeing him as it's been a few years and we spent a great deal of time together fishing in the 80s and 90s. Here are some pics of wild strawberry. Love it
Not my pics but I plan to take a bunch when I'm there
