Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Pa over NJ any day.

Despite the low water levels, the PA streams are still producing some nice fish. Here are a couple from this weekend.
The best money I ever spent was for a non-res PA fishing license. NJ stockers are fine, but who wouldn't want to trade those mutant no tails for some hard fighting wild PA browns?

PA has some of the best trout fishing in the Northeast and has an incredible amount of trout water compared to a small State like NJ where only about 25% of our landmass has water that can support trout. I live in NJ close to PA and buy a PA license, however if you have been catching only stockies in NJ I suggest you take a closer look. The majority of trout that I catch in NJ are wild trout in small to mid-sized streams with my largest wild brook trout being a NJ wild.

Well What about the Big Delaware. I Consider it my favorite stretch of water in the northeast and is shared by NJ,PA. Both sides fish great from top to bottom.

Fishing various bead head nymphs. I'd like to be chucking big streams in high off-colored water, but that's not in the cards right now.

Actually, when doing my NJ fishing, I almost exclusivly target wild fish and prefer to stay away from the heavily stocked waters. There are plenty of wild browns, with a smattering of brookies and rainbows is many NJ wild trout streams and I have fished most with success. We even have a true tailwater in NJ that has some very pretty wild brook trout. Here is a pic of one that had the most unusual colors I have ever seen in a brookie.
