I was too sick to work today but good enough to fish. Tried a PA limestoner with no fish. The olives were awesome. I could get a parachute in their mouth but they spit that too fast. Switched to a snowshoe emerger and wham bam thank you maam. Landed 4 and had a shot at a dozen more. Not bad for the low water level.

And here are the results. They were spitting other flies but pouncing on this like a cat and taking it deep!
A very simple fly. Curved hook, brown thread, grey antron shuck (yes I knot this) and snowshoe hair.
My go-to has always been CDC but the snowshoe hair held up very well. Just brush on some powder and right back at it. Floats like a cork too. These will be getting a lot more use this year.

Nice fish and fly! I tie something very similar but I use Rene' Harrop's BWO blend for the body and I agree snow shoe is the way to roll. I also tied a few with CDC with plans of fishing them near the bottom.

I have watched the early season bwo emerger in the film and that fly is a match. Nice tie. Give a darker color antron tail a try. The shucks are a dark brown, but it shouldnt matter much.
