hello gents
First, I wanted to make a point about Orvis customer service and why I continue to support them and their products-
I was using my 9ft 5wt tip flex Clearwater II this past weekend on the pequest and somehow managed to snap the tip off. Without realizing the Clearwater II was discontinuted, I called Orvis on monday to get a repair # and start the process of getting it fixed. they offered me a brand new replacement Access 9' 5wt in my choice of mid or tip-flex for $150. Typical repair turnarounds are 3-6 weeks with Orvis however he offered to put in a request for an expedited turnaround on the Access replacement. They received my broken rod yesterday evening from UPS and this morning I received an email from UPS with a tracking # showing my brand new Access to be arriving at my home this Friday via expedited delivery service. Essentially they gave me $220 for my broken, discontinued 1 year old clearwater II rod and expedited the Access to my home free of charge so I can get out on the water this weekend. You can't beat that!
I spend the weekdays living/working in Manhattan so I stopped by the Orvis store next to my building lastnight and played with an Access rod. Wow this thing is LIGHT. Do any of you own one, have a review, etc? I chose mid-flex model cause i like more feel and slower action as opposed the fast acting, somewhat stiff tip flex's. Any advice is appreciated.
thumbs up to orvis.:worthy:
