Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Neversink 04-16-2015

Never. I'm going full snagging mode next week. Need to gear up first.

I wish this guy would fall in and lose or break his Go Pro… This is exactly what we don't need. He is a buffoon on a good day… Catskill John I agree with you on this one. His buddies probably come and net all the fish out.

As entertaining as this is, you do know that not having backing on your reel is dumb, right? Its cheap, and serves multiple purposes in addition to not running out of line for that big fish you'll never catch (judging by your technique).

We can argue for hours what is better. If you watch some of my videos (one below), I always talk about using heavy tippets. I rather catch less fish but when I hook them I bring them in ASAP. This is why I don't use backing. I hate seeing guys playing the fish for 20 minutes running them for 200' just because 6x tippet. I always use 3x tippet but even than I brake few as the tippet gets worn dragging on rocks. Lets face it, these hooks don't rust out like we all would like to think they do.

I like that video. You know, I would avoid fishing dry flies on such a small stream too, and those pesky false-casts! Dry flies suck. Anyway, why would you buy a nice large arbor reel, but not enjoy the full benefits by not having backing to get the full arbor, more line in per revolution? Why would you buy that nice expensive fly line, and wind it tight to the reel for maximum coiling?

Everyone likes to have their "thing". Lee Wulff was known for catching salmon with a 5' rod, or half a rod. Then again, Lee Wulff was Lee Wulff, and he caught fish. Pretty sure Lee also used backing.

Beaver, stop posting your videos to NEFF and join the big leagues at Current Issue - GB Magazine.

You obviously know your shit and are sincerely passionate about this.

To hell with the critics.

Whatsayou, Martin Scorcese of the rivers?

There are a few points I want to make here.

First and foremost, when beaver snags the fish and is like -- aww fuck catskill john is gonna roast me -- I re-watched that part a bunch of times 'cause its hilarious.

It seems like people's biggest problem with Beaver's videos is that he spot burns a lot of smaller streams that don't get much pressure. It makes total sense why people hate on him for this and I think he would be better off just naming the county he is fishing in. If people can figure out the stream based on the landmarks, they've probably fished it before and it doesn't really count as a 'spot burn' in my book.

People also seem to enjoy making fun of him for never catching anything. This is funny and I applaud you all for your good work.

My guess is that if he caught a shit ton of fish, his videos would piss people off even more. In a way, that's spot burning as well. It's broadcasting to the world -- hey check it out, this river's fishing really well. You should all come fish here...

here's a note -- if you want more views on youtube, make sure to fall in the stream atleast 2 times in every video and get really mad and curse the slippery rocks. that could go viral.

The Beev should keep on postin. I find his maverick views on dry fly fishing and equipment quite compelling, and statistically the more he posts, the greater chance of a fall or fiery motorcycle crash.

Maybe we can start a pool

I think this is a great idea.

Two boobs, a fly rod & a motorcycle. What could possibly go wrong:)

Simms and I will be there Saturday morning. If you choose to join us, you can locate us by closely listening out for the words "Ring dong" and "Ringdoo" said very loudly with multiple inflections.

We will be parked at the lot on Katrina Falls Rd. May even hit the Mongaup on the way back.

One that I post of forums as clickbait to get the pee diddlers to post about it.

Come and watch the show. I fish the sink with 350 grain sinking line and no backing. 8 weight. Gets those guys skipping clear across the water like a smooth stone.

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH

Let me explain.

Ringdong or RINGADOO is a term used by Shane and I in place of many words.

For instance, when speaking to your girlfriend:

"Chris, want to go out to dinner tonight?" -Emily
"Ring Dong!"-Chris

============================================

When speaking to your boss about finally figuring out your Window Batch Script syntax:

"RINGADOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"-Chris

"Chris, wtf?"

"Just figured out the export syntax." -Chris

==================================================

When answering simple questions:

"Hey Chris, need to go to the bathroom?"

"Ringdong"- Chris

"Hey Chris are you thirsty?"

"Ringdong." -Chris

====================================================

Or when youre crossing the river in a hairy spot, I normally whisper this as it helps me with footing:

'Ring, RINGDONG, ring, ring ring RINGDONG"

When I then get to the other side, I let out a long, "RINGADOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

In conclusion, you can use this word anywhere and in any context you please.

"Chris, i just wanted to let you know sophie died."

"Ringdong."

See you folks Saturday.

Ay lemme know how you do?? I might fish it on Monday. Chr boi has access to the private road this season... :give-the-finger:

Hey Brotha,

Water is still cold, but the fish were still hitting.

Shane and I hooked about 15/16 total, with half to the net.

Tail-outs were the best producers, for obvious reasons.

Also, theres a yocal up there running around with my 10' 5wt Loomis GLX and Galvan reel. If you see him, tell him I will find him, and I will kill him.
