Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

2 streams, 2 flies

I realize that I'm committing a major rule violation for this site, but I'm going to submit an actual fishing post.

My favorite PA haunt was still too high to fish so I opted for a dry fly trip on a PA mountain WTS. Before I left I tied on a fl. pink Humpy and that was all I needed for hours of wild brown and brook trout fun.
Although there were few real bugs coming off the water, the fish cooperated with readily taking my offering.

I finished up there about 3:30 pm and decided to stop for an hour at the Pequod on my way home for a go at the rainbow mutants in the TCA. Well, let's just say it was like Custer vs. Sitting Bull, a slaughter.
Again, I used only one fly for this location. I know that it is sacrilegious, but I chose to use a new egg pattern called the Tungsten Taco Egg Fly by Devin Olsen. All I can say is it is as deadly as Ricin and could put Uncle Josh, Mike and Pautzke out of business.

For those of you who are not disgusted or embarrassed by the use of such witchery here is a link to the pattern.

Hello, Fished Flatbrook on Sat. with my grandson. He never fished flies before and he was home from PSU. We had a ball. I quit counting after 15 trout were caught. He caught 8 trout and for his first time out I thought was good for him. All were caught on a size 16 Pheasant Tail. with a gold bead head. We started at 1:00 and quit at 4:00. Water at a great level and very clear. If we did not have a strike indicator no trout would have been caught. That’s it for now. Bill the mailman

I checked out the link to that pattern, then I felt like Eve must have after she took a bite of the apple.
