Ok Here you go......I am planning trips to Montana over the next few years to hit lots of major streams as my bucket list. Problem is there are too many to fish over the next 15 to 20 years, the only answer to get max experience by grouping some rivers together to fish on each trip. Anyone got ideas on the main ones to hit and then some others while in the area ?
Also doing Colorado Utah and Wyoming, BC so same question.
Montana, rent a car, you can fish The Madison, The Gallatin, The Yellowstone, the spring creeks in Paradise Valley, the Gibbon, the Firehole, The Henry's Fork, all from a base in West Yellowstone, or The Slide Inn, or any of the places to stay near Yellowstone, or in the Rainbow Valley...none are more than a 2 to 2.5 hour drive and the Madison, Henry's Fork, Gallatin and Fire Hole are all relatively close...you will need a special license for the park and remember, no lead in there..
P.S. the Henry's fork is in Idaho, the fishing license there is dirt cheap....
