Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Last fly swap was....

My flies are all store purchased! I can't tie a dustball which is pretty much what you'll get if I dig my vice up from a dark grave in the back yard.

In lieu of flies, you can send everyone a Wulff triangle taper fly line...

I will gladly join and need to know how many flies and time line and of course an address to send them to.

Ok, so we will replace DC with GD62.

GD62,
So things don't get too short on time for you, even though things are still in a state of flux, I will tell you what I am doing. I am tying 8 each of two of my favorite trout getter nymphs for the swap and at least a dozen guide pattern flies to be donated to Project Healing Waters.
With the crap weather we have had lately I am just about done with mine. I will probably take the time and twist up a few more for the PHW donation.

Okay no problem, I will type two patterns of 8 each for a total of 16. Will think of the patterns I want to tye and will get started shortly tonight. Just provide me an address to send them to.

I apologize for not being on . Crazy busy at work. I am going to tye

Rhyacophila Caddis larva ( kill them on it from mid march to late April)

Low profile ( floating) Elk wing Caddis.

Give me a time line for your flies. I would like to have it wrapped up by March 1st.

Is that good with everyone?

March 1st works for me, as long as NEFF is still around..;)

I just finished. I have my favorite jig nymph and blowtorch tag nymph for the swap and I have two dozen nymphs tied for PHW. Amazing what cold weather can produce.

I realize that it's a bit of a running joke...but if NEFF's existence on March 1st is a possible concern, then perhaps we should each PM TomFly our email address so communication for the swap gets completed.

March 1st should be fine for my flies being ready.

I'm done with the Bird's Nests and the Olive Emergers (tied a bunch of extra olives) for the Healing Waters donation, and the Red Quill Emergers for the swap folks. I've tied more Red Quills after taking this pic....I'm waiting on some size small silver thread for the SOS flies. Tried tying with x-small and didn't like em..

is this still happening, no one is posting any more lies....I want to go fishing, and I could use these flies!!!:):)

Sorry I have not been on . 10 hour a day Busy at work

PM me for my address when you are ready to send them.

I had to order hooks got them the other day so my Flies will be ready on the 31st.

I'm almost done with the swap flies, and then I have to start the donation flies. I'll get most of it done this week and will probably finish up during SGM-fest next Sunday.

I have been done for weeks now, just haven't gotten around to finding packaging to ship in.

I have had 2 PM for my address. Are we still doing this? I said will host it. I have no problem with that. Do not expect me to chase anyone to send their flies. With my work schedule lately, I don't have the time or the desire too. If I do not here form the rest by the 1 of March. ( 4 days ) ( PM for my address) The swap will proceed without you. I expect to receive all by the 10th. If you can't comply let the others as well as myself know.

Tom

Hey, I was there for a few minutes, what table were you at? I saw a few ex-NEFFers, one named AK Skim....;)

2013.

Who wants to fire a new one up?

Ok Here you go......I am planning trips to Montana over the next few years to hit lots of major streams as my bucket list. Problem is there are too many to fish over the next 15 to 20 years, the only answer to get max experience by grouping some rivers together to fish on each trip. Anyone got ideas on the main ones to hit and then some others while in the area ?
Also doing Colorado Utah and Wyoming, BC so same question.

Montana, rent a car, you can fish The Madison, The Gallatin, The Yellowstone, the spring creeks in Paradise Valley, the Gibbon, the Firehole, The Henry's Fork, all from a base in West Yellowstone, or The Slide Inn, or any of the places to stay near Yellowstone, or in the Rainbow Valley...none are more than a 2 to 2.5 hour drive and the Madison, Henry's Fork, Gallatin and Fire Hole are all relatively close...you will need a special license for the park and remember, no lead in there..

P.S. the Henry's fork is in Idaho, the fishing license there is dirt cheap....

Sorry I missed you LU. I was tying at the table that was directly behind the fellow who was selling the necks and saddles. All of the guys at my table are members of the Hudson Valley Fly Fishers. I managed to knock out 8 pink squirrel nymphs for the PHW donation part of our swap. I wasn't there long (10:00 to 12:15). Had to leave early for a birthday party.
