Awesome. The flaming, wraps, and blued ferrules go together great.

What's the length, weight, and taper going to be? I'm insanely jealous. Bastard getting a new rod.

The antique gold wraps are on a 6'9" 3 weight. It is a 3 piece rod - it isn't a classic taper... A modern builder came up with the taper, Larry liked it and builders are often willing to share their tapers... I will get you details on it tho if you're interested.

The 7' 2-3 wt, with cardinal wraps, is based on a Leonard taper that I like - the baby catskill.

There were a number of different sizes and tapers that the Leonard company called the baby catskill.

This taper can be found on the Hexrod website...

Best.

Honsetly GB....anyone who has ever built a rod could do those wraps..They are nice...nothing unique..or special...hell... I'll bet your flamer pal Phil Donahue could even make those flamed wraps......

TT:

I think you should join us in march when rob smith does a presentation on bamboo...

Or when I can get Ron frost.

Just put it on your calendar!

It's hard to make out the flaming from the pics you posted. Any longer pictures that show More of the rod.

Also if you are hawking his rods please make sure you ae giving a percentage to Dennis as per AKs rant from the other day:)

Looking good GB,
will the wraps be color preserved, they don't look varnished yet.
I use pearsall's silk in those colors.
After varnishing the will turn a nice brown color and the tipping will turn to a deep brown.
The white will become invisible. This is if the wraps are not color preserved..
looks like it's shaping up to be quite a beauty:)

Can we book you to speak to RRTU next year?

Let's choose a month - it looks like january february and march are booked...

How about May or June?

we'll see what Rob covers in his presentation and maybe we'll do something a little different:thumb:
