Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Fish first, ask questions later.
Took a day off to try some mid-week fishing at the Gorge and was not disappointed. The river was high and off-color so I tried a junk fly I saw on the GST site -- a bright green mop fly (the only material is the nub from a mop glove used to wash cars). I fished it behind a cone-head olive woolly bugger to get the fly down. I also recommend an immediate upstream mend to put slack in the line to let the flies drop faster in the strong current. I caught about 20 fish (the most I have ever caught in a single outing) and I am now a believer. There were a lot of midges hatching throughout the day and some sporadic sulphurs. I saw a couple of rises and tried a sulphur usual and a sulphur emerger but went back to the mop fly.
