Humidity and Trout

yes, trout need 100% humidity or else they will die. ever heard the saying "like a fish out of water"?

oh, you meant humidity of the air? trout couldn't care less, they are in the water.

One would think that since humid air has higher thermo-conductivity, it would warm water quicker than dry air. But who really cares.

Yep... they do like humidity. Humidity for the trout equals less fisherman particularly on hot days.

Hi,

Humid nights tend to stay warmer, so if temperature is an issue, the river will not to cool down as much at night, since the humidity in the air slows down radiational cooling.

Acts just like a cloudy night. Clouds keep the heat from escaping.

It think!

P.S. FFMP has a humidity index calculator that determines water temperature by the humidity index times the square root of temperature divided by the incidence of night time solar radiation, then if you take the inverse of ..... just kidding, did I suck you in?
