Hey, I actually just started Fly fishing last summer. I started up in maine, and I caught mostly trout. It's seems to me that the quill gordon works almost every time, but I've researched that it depends on the river. Can you give me some advice about Beaverkill river? I'm using a 5x leader and tippet, and have the standard dry and wet flies sizes 14 to 18. What do you recommend I use. I tried streamers in croton, but they don't work because my line is too thin I think. This is my box: Where would you suggest I go on the beaverkill if I try casting next week (late april)? What should I use, and where??
5x 9ft. Leader: All of my flies are 14, 16, and 18
