What happened to Garden State Trout?

That place gets like 1 post per week now.

When GST was rocking, you could get 1 post per day, easy.

What the hell happened?

It's slow there now, but there's been some political/current events discussion in the "Off Topic" section.

HEllo and Happy New Year, I brother lives just outside of Afton on Rte.41. He owns North.east Realty in Afton and other towns in N.Y.State My nieces and nephew also live just outside of Afton. He has on his farm a little stream that is loaded with Brook Trout. He also put in 2 ponds (17 acres and 25 acres) on his farm that he loaded with trout and yellow perch. But unfotunityly he also had some Lg. Mouth Bass in the 17 acres pond that he didn’t, t know of. Now the bass are Hugh and the trout as far as I can tell are gone Not really gone but Bass food. I,Lloyd’s be going up there this Spring or Sumeer to help keep the groundhogs under control. I left my 220 Swift with a 10power scope at his place. Bill the mailman

I know where that is...
Town of Bainbridge, I believe. 15 minutes away.
Small world.

Garden State Trout is down for maintenance - wouldn't expect a whole lot of posts under those circumstances.

Definitely a lot of ground hogs in Afton. ! The little woman is at war with them , trying to keep them out of her garden. Those ponds sound awesome. When I was in the Restaurant supply and equipment business in NJ in the 90’s I had access to some country club lakes that were stocked with bass and nobody fished. I used to catch some lunkers out
Of them . Ever fish the Susquehanna for Smallmouth or Walleyes? The
Barber in town has some nice ones mounted on his walls.

Those groundhogs will make supplying the restaurants coolers much easier..!!!:hubbahubba:

We, up here, prefer the term "woodchuck". Some Old timers still call them "whistle pigs". And I don't give them a hard time about it, well, because they're old.

Growing up in NJ I always called them Wood chucks. My little woman grew up on a small farm in Pa and she calls them ground hogs. She won’t think twice about killing one if she sees it near her garden. Rabbits don’t bother her , but ground hogs Are done for . I’ve never heard of Whistle pigs though.

Well, well, look what the cat dragged in.... Me, I'm referring to myself. Anyway down to business. Thanks Pete and Rusty for reviving this thread to let people know that GST has resurfaced, although a bit bares bones at the moment, hopefully it can build back up again! Not that im expecting much love from this crowd but I've gotten used to taking my licks for the past decade or so . So come over, poke fun or just ignore the place.... All advertising is good advertising!

It's back, but he hasn't figured out how to reload the database, so it's starting over.
http://gardenstatetrout.com/forum/index.php

Hey Pete, so the issue is that while I do have backups (from about the last month before it crashed) all of them are missing the phpbb_users directory. I have the posts but without a user directory to match them up with its useless and anytime I try to point the new forum to the old database to rebuild it, it fails. So close, but no cigar.

As Rusty said my beef is with Godaddy for never updating my server. It was running PHP 5 and I think over time the forum software was unable to correctly communicate, hence the crash and data loss. So we are starting over, it sucks, but it seems to be my only option right now to get a functioning forum back. I can also admit that I'm not the best with this stuff but its learning process, I guess i was lucky for the past decade.
