I wanted to pass along my opinion of a jig hook that I have been using for about a year now. It's the Fulling Mill FM5125 Jig Force Short Black Nickel.
First observation is that contrary to their name, they actually run about a size large. A size 18 has about a size 16 shank length. That will be my only "negative" comment on this hook.
The hook is forged and extremely strong and I have probably zero hook bend-outs on large fish in fast water,
Hook gape is large and will except over-sized slotted beads without crowding the hook point.
Cost per hook is fairly economical at $13.95 per 50 hooks ($.28 per hook).
Now this feature is what I like best, the eye is turned perpendicular to the shank. Most tungsten slotted beads have a slot that is fairly wide and you can bury the hook eye when over-sizing beads. The perpendicular eye spans the slot and stays exposed much better than the eye turned in the other direction.
