A fan of Boobery
So I met Tomfly at the KLG this morning, I had my bear spray ready to defend myself, but thankfully he wasn't as horny as Moosekids dog was last winter....we all remember THAT picture...anyway
There were some Mayflies, ( we needed help identifying) which I will post a picture, small caddis, medium caddis, lots of crane flies and nothing rising.....
So I put on a size 18 soft hackle pheasant tail emerger, these imitate many emerging in sects well...I was shooting for the caddis and the crane flies which were very small and yellow....I caught many fish, quick released a few, and landed one sucker....Tomfly can tell you how his day was, because I don't like to throw people under the bus....but..
here is the winner fish of the day, just so you all know, this is what wild brown trout from the SBR look like...it was about 12 inches, a nice wild one for the SBR...
Here is the mayfly, that was identified for me by a text to a very knowledgeable NEFFer, I know right? They do exist.....
anyone want to guess as to what the name of this fly is? It just hatched as you can see the tails and wings have not even begun to dry, and are not completely unfurled....It was a nice day, had nice company and some nice joggers ran by in some nice yoga pants...woooohooo
