Fishing in the Lake Louise/Banff area

Does anyone have any experience fishing in the Banff/Lake Louise area? I am going out to do some sightseeing in early October and I am wondering if it would be worth bringing my stuff with me. I am not planning on bringing waders but I thought I could do some lake shore fishing. I am not interested in drifting the Bow. What do the trout out there eat at that time of year, midges, terrestrials, leeches? Thank you.

The Bow River runs right through town and there's at least one fly shop there although it's been too long to remember a name for you. I'm sure you can Google it. I know you don't want to float it, but there are some side channels you can wade fish.
