Favorite fishing picture of 2014

flyI4

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
Since this is the time of year that there isn't much to report, I thought an interesting post would be to see what everyone has as their favorite picture taken during the course of the 2014 fishing season. Fish porn, scenic shots, whatever. Lets see what everyone has. I'll start with this one, which was taken on a remote stream in northern Mt that shall remain nameless. My dad, sister, and I had enjoyed a great day of hatches and big fish and I thought this picture captured the day well. Also- thought it was a great themed shot that the old man had his fill and is satisfied while I couldn't get enough and kept on fishing. Stages of the flyfisherman life cycle epitomized in one photo.

Great pic Fly14......conveys a feeling of contentment...

An epic black caddis hatch on the Bighorn in Montana was probably the highlight of my fly fishing year. This swarm says it all.

This shot of two Hex's I took while camping in the ADK's, has to be one of my favorite pictures that I took this year.

Forked Lake 6.13.14 101.jpg

First one is in the Poconos waiting at the tail out for an evening spinner fall.. Second pic is looking upstream on wild strawberry in Utah this past July.

this was another good one- shackled to the oars with 4 men. Trout guy posted up in the back

A fine picture, and a bit of a mystery.

Whereabouts is that?

Actually Beetle.....
This was taken in Yellowstone...it is the Madison river a little downstream from where the firehole joins it......one of the most amazing places I have seen in my life.....It is an emotional experience to be there, let alone fish there...

Believe it or not, that picture was taken with a phone..

What is really cool is the river... Without trees or any shade to protect it from the sun, is probably bone chilling cold...

looks like a spring creek....

you gotta love it when the earth creates a fly fisherman's paradise like that one, where the water stays cool without the need for shit that catches your fly on a backcast, or impedes your vision to a riser far upstream....

love it.

Great idea for a thread. View attachment 11379 View attachment 11381 I often feel like I am taking pictures of the water as much as the fish. The contour of the water and the pattern of the stream bottom are sometimes more interesting than a fish laying on a rock. Though I take those pics, too.

Great thread...here are two of my favorite pics from the year. The first pic was taken with my phone. I love the smokey look to the water in this shot. The fish and net go well together too. The underwater shot was used with my GoPro. Sometimes that camera amazes me with the quality pictures it puts out. Nothing like seeing a trout underwater in its natural habitat. I enjoy releasing these beauties as much as catching them. Happy New Year everyone. Hope the year is filled with happiness and good health....and of course a few fish!!

Nice pics Matty...I was hoping, in an evil sort of way, you posted your "state record" fish picture...:)

You guys and your cute little trout.

There are so many pictures to choose from. So, here are a few.

My biggest Kenai bow so far. 26" x 16" fatty that came at the end of a long summer day in Alaska.

Some of the scenery.

The specimens.

I though about it Lightenup for some shits and giggles....

C T...I don't know if its my computer but I was only able to view two pictures.

These of my daughter releasing her first trout are my favorite from this season

This was taken on the Madison in July.

And this was taken one year ago today.....we'll be out there again today. This guy had a real 'tude because he wanted to be working the drive up instead of fishing.
