Fall Equinox fishing report...well sort of:)

MACFLY

Too many streams too little time
Decided to do a little fishing this afternoon in celebration of the transition from summer to fall. I took the long way so I could check out a couple of places on the way. First stop was the Saucon which looked ok considering the lack of rain we have had. I spotted one decent sized fish hanging under a rock just upstream of the suspension bridge. He was pretty well camouflaged unless you were really looking for fish.
I didn't fish the saucon as I wanted to check out martins creek and waltz creek to see how they looked. The short answer is not too good at the moment. Both are severely dewatered and in some spots it was standing water. I finally made my way up to my destination but I never even put my waders on. First spot I stopped at had 2 guys plying the waters to no avail. Wind was gusting pretty good and even though this area held some water it was amazing how low it was even for this time of year.

Next stop was the ball field which gets a lot of pressure but generally holds fish. The wind was even worse here since its an open area. No fish spotted so I checked out one more spot and this really told the tale for me. I normally have to don waders to get upstream from where I park but today I could walk out amd up a side channel that almost completely dried up and then literally half way up the pool (about 30 yards) while there was still water with some depth it was certainly the lowest i have ever seen it personally. I saw 3 separate risers (one and done) I never wet a line today. It was nice to get out for a walk. It had been 3 months since I last fished up here and the water was getting skinny then. While the cool temps should help its no secret we need some rain and lots of it.

This is not a fishing report, this is a sightseeing tour. What next, pictures of the fly shops you stopped at?
