Edit Button?

Some forum administrators consider it bad manners/spamming when someone makes several posts in a row in the same topic when there haven't been any interevening replies. They prefer you edit your last post if you want to make a correction and/or an update.

I went to update one of my posts today...
I couldn't find the "Edit" button.
I made a new post instead.
After I posted, the new post had an edit button, but the previous one still did not.

Does the Edit button "time out"?
Is this deliberate or a bug?

Pete,

DC put a delay into the edit button. I can't remember why, but I beleive it's about 24 hours.

Hi Pete,

Yes, there is a 24/hr window in which you can edit your posts. After the 24hr/s, you will have to email me with the changes and link to the post.
