This may be a dumb observation, and I'm sure that some individuals here will be completely happy to point that out, but everything that I have personally seen from the groups arguing for increased Delaware flows focus on saving the "trout fishery," the "trout habitat," etc.
Why not focus the message on saving "the trout?" I would think that more people/media/environmental groups would be inclined to get involved to help the poor, defenseless trout who are being tortured by the evil NYC. Position it as animal cruelty!
Sounds a lot stronger than saving a "sport" whereby many fishermen just kill the fish anyway. That argument doesn't hold water, so to speak.
