Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Just finished a River Runs Through it!
i am going to buy new wading boots and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions since the last time i bought a pair has been quite a long time ago...there is so many to choose from...THANKS!

Have Simms Guide model with Aqua stealth and studs and love them Have Bean stealth and Studs as well but the Guides are more comfortable and sturdier in my opinion.

Andre,

Here is the deal. If you want to fish the Gunpowder -- I will personally show you my favorite spots to hit - I don't intend to fish but watch, etc. I have the flies that work specifically for that river.

I would not expect a great day of fishing due to the smallish nature of the fish and the expected large turnout, fyi.

Otherwise, probably not.

Let me know down the road if it works for you.

Sincerely,

HLR

I have the cabelas ultralight wading boots.....I like them alot, and they have held up well through their first season. I think I'm going to look at some kind of convertible shoe in the near future...I'm not sure which ones yet but have heard many comments like hydes on the Orvis model, I also like the looks and availible soles for the Korkers ones, but have been unable to find anyone using them to get an opinion.

I have a pair of Simms Guide model waders and I use Danner boots with them. I'm very happy with both.

Hyde, my brother-in-law lives about 15 minutes from the Gunpowder. Do you do any fishing in Chesapeake Bay?

bugman, PLEASE do NOT even think of getting anything with felt on them. Opinions are like ******** and everybody has one, SO. Everybody is entitled to theirs, BUT, IMHO, and from everything i've read.............felt soles are capable of transporting Whirling Disease from river to river, even after having sat dry for up to three years. It may or may not be true, but do YOU need that on YOUR mind when your fishsing? Exactly, you don't. Why even chance it. I have been using Aquastealth for years, every since L.L.Bean first came out with them in 1994 i think it was. Wore out two pair and i'm now using the Simms Guide Model with/without studs, their interchangeable. Take Andre's word for it. They ARE very comfortable, AND sturdy, light too. I LOVE mine. mark (willowhead) www.JazzMarkGallery.com

mark....you are right i am not going with felt and so far those aquastealth are on the top of my list...do you arder your size or a few sizes up?

If your going to get Simms Guides than you would order your shoe size. I wear 12 shoe and have 12 boots.

bugman, i always order one size larger, because my waders have neoprean stocking feet, both my neos obviously, AND my breathables. I have always bought wading boots one size larger because i have always had neoprean stocking foot waders. Never owned anything else. I was told to do that, and it has always worked for me. GaryB, i have never had any problem with slipping on algae covered rocks any more with the Aquastealth wading boots than i ever did with the felt "back in the days." In other words, YES, they do work as good, if not better. mark
