Berkshire fishing report!!!

Well Ladies and Conservatives,

This morning I awoke, fresh as a daisy due to the fact my finals were over and I was in need of some Salmoninae...Seeing as I have been fishing the local rivers pretty regularly before/during/after classes, I decided to quench the thirst of the HEMI and head WEST...ROUTE 2 it was!!!

I checked the Waterworks websites and zoar gap releases and I was safe from a whitewater release and river was pissing at 125cfs until 8am....So I figured I had until 1030-11ish to fish my favorite spots before it got over my head at 800cfs scheduled release at 830am...

I traveled up river road and park at the cemetary and suited up. I hit the Johhny on the Spot and I was on my way!
Carefully manuevered down a rock face and immediately employed my tandem rig accompanied by a thing-a-ma-bobber... 3rd roll cast, BANG!!!!!! 10' Loomis GLX snapped right at a guide foot...My bet goes to a burr from the factory...

PISSED, I got out and headed back for the back up, this one only being 9'... :( I like that extra length for the deerfield. Makes life so much easier. I guess my life was not going to be easy today...

Well, I only brought 3 nice fish to hand, the rest either snapped me off or I lost at my feet. It just was not my day...
The bugs were horrendous(skeeters/gnats)...Only saw a few caddis and march browns...Hott too... I can't tell you how many times I lost my tandem rig on the bottom or in a tree....

THEN!

I come back to my truck to find my bumper kissing the rear tail light...WHAT THE _______! Some JERK OFF backed into me/ran into me and did not have a respect to leave contact information...Im still fuming from this situation...So, now its off to MOPAR tomorrow to price out bumpers...SWEET! Should be a heft chunk of change for something only worth about $53.45.... My last one was 525.00 after some clown ran into my bumper on a sled...UGHH!!!

I thought it was going to be a good day when I got up, but when the lady at Dunkins gave me coconut instead of black, I knew I should have turned around right there...Oh well, we all have them a couple times a year! Just gotta get through them and on to the next accident-less day of fishing!!! Enjoy the pics...

Time to make some kielbasa with kraut and perogies...And a spicey BLOODY MARY

FIFE!

I think this was a fishercat...Look closely, center of pic, on the rock...a bit smaller than beaver, and most certainly larger than a mink...Traversed that hill like a son-of-a-bitch..

And a hen came to say goodbye and flick me off as I packed up for the day...

nice pics... I fish the Deerfield above the Harriman Reservoir quite often, one of these days I'll fish it on the Mass side.

Beetle,

Thank you. One of these days youll have to relinquish your WTS spots, via PM of course :) Those places look beautiful...

Trouser,

Come on up...I dont fish with anyone up here and would love to fish with someone once in a while... Never fished the deerfield on that side...Im sure you need to watch the releases as careful as we do here in Mass, eh? It can get very dangerous if youre not aware...

You posted a picture of a rainbow trout not too long ago...

A classic.

Beetle,

Yeah, that was a kamloop strain..The ones I got today were native...Almost a SILVER...the FIFE section of the Deerfield (particularly from the dam down about 300 yards) and almost ALL natives...

gad,

that is all she wrote...that IS on 14x zoom..Im not a computer whiz, so not sure how to further zoom the picture?
