Beaverkill report 5/29-5/30

My wife and I got up to Roscoe Thursday night. Woke up Friday morning the river was raging and looked like chocolate milk, didn't look like a good day. We took our time had breakfast and headed out about 11:00am. I decided to fish a spot I've done well at in the past and nobody seems to fish. Tied on a big GRHE (size 8 or 10) hoping that the fish could see it. Cast it behind a rock and bam, nice 15" brown. Managed several more browns and 1 rainbow. What a nice suprise in such poor conditions. More of the same on Saturday. Some bugs hatching but no rises. All and all had a good trip when I was thinking about leaving for home.

You da man!...catching trout is those conditions. That's the BK for ya...never know what the river will be like until you get there. I always hope for perfect, gin clear, cold water, with normal flows, lots of bugs, and rising trout. Yea I'm dreaming.

I'll be sending GPS info shortly. It's a spot right along the road that doesn't look like much, hardly see anyone fishing there. One year I was up and it was very crowded so I tried it just to have some piece and quiet. It's now my place to go if nothing else is working.
