More rain fell last night in the Catskills. Beaverkill is up another five feet from the six foot level as of 24 hours ago.

Not fishable through this weekend.

You are right..one of the nicest weekends coming up and forget about the Catskills. This has been easily the most frustrating season I've seen.

Oddly, Jersey streams don't look all that high in comparison. I might be forced to wet my line here at home for the first time this year. I dread the thought of hatchery trout, however.

CR, the Easton?Bethleam spring creeks look OK as well. They appear to have gotten wacked the first round or downpours but missed the second.

I am going to fish the Mainstem -- hell or highwater. I just purchased a Teeny 400 grain shooting head and plan to use my double lead wrapped streamer patterns.

Anyone else want to join me?

Actually folks, people fished the Beaverkill and the Willow all weekend just fine. I fished the Beaverkill tonight and the water levels are fine. Higher than they usually are this time of year, but plenty fishable. Some of you guys that know what your doing ought to come on up and show me how. My chops are way down, lol. later, m.j.r.
