Alaska Trip: September 2015

Well,

With CTobias's constant Alaska pictures and my at a stage in my life where I am able to begin repaying my father for the thousands of days on the water the last 26 years of my life, as an early birthday present, I booked a trip for my dad and I to Alaska, particularly Kenai Peninsula. I have rented quite the beautiful cabin literally on the bank of the Kenai in Cooper Landing, walking distance to dozens of smaller tributaries.

Per CTobias, I booked the cabin for 8 days the 2nd to last weekend in September. With touraist season over and even LARGER rainbows around, with the occasional WILD steelhead, it was a no brainer!
Also, CTobias will be our personal guide for the week as well!

Chris, again thank you for recommendations and everything in between. I sent my dad a package with a hand written letter as some of the pictures you have been posting. He called me up last night when he got the package like a kid on Christmas morning. I absolutely can not wait for this trip!!!!!

Now, just 11.5 more months!!!!!!

Should be good times! The water has dropped significantly in two weeks. It has gone from almost 15,000 CFS to 5500 CFS. Once it gets below freezing at night, the river drops fast. Should be plenty of water and hungry trout when you and your pops get into town. Plus, some of the good eats down there should still be open.
