Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Abel reel for the Dead Head

My current ringback tone is Ripple.....

My current Rippleback tone is Ring.....

Actually it's Eyes of the World...

Anyway, those reels look sweet, however current budget restraints will prohibit purchase. If I tye-dye my current Tioga and don't wash it, it may suffice.

I own one Abel reel and it's the single best piece of fly fishing gear I own. Got it for half price when I actually earned a real living. Certainly couldn't afford a special paint job one today, but that sure is pretty. If you've never fished one, all other reels are a step behind an Abel drag reel. Most or two or three steps behind.

Welcome to the new age..............back in the 60's when the Dead counted, they would have never sold out to a corporation. And what does
their music have to do with fly fishing ? Love them in their day but $300 for a paint job is a waste of money at least for me.

I don't know, before he died, Jerry was selling a crap load of ties and other merchandise....not sure I would call selling Dead related merchandise a sell out. Look at the shows - everything was for sale. Legal and otherwise:smokelots:

This notion that musicians are anything other than entertainers always facinates me. They all sold out the minute they signed to a label or started making a living off of their acts. Some have their pet causes that they champion once they're famous, and even that is part of a carefully crafted image. Even the biggest mouths out their (like Eddie Vedder, Tom Morello, Bruce, etc.) ain't trading their Bentleys, putt'in on free shows, or giving albums away.
