North Eastern Fly Fishing

Upper D looking good today!

Upper D looking good today!

Rivers are looking great for floating! I saw a post yesterday that they are pretty off-color though. :( It's good to see that the temps have come down a bit and the flows are awesome!

Schroon River guides

We are going up to Schroon lake soon. I’m thinking we might want to hire a guide (assuming water temps are ok) to try to fish on Schroon river. Are there any guides recommended in the area?

NJ tailwater

NJ tailwater

I fished a NJ tailwater this morning because I was in need of a trout fishing fix. This weather was beating me up and I needed to unwind for a couple hours and a trout or two was the answer.
Water was low as to be expected but the temperature was low enough to make my feet numb while wet wading. I fished my usual...

upper lower east branch

Heading up to the East Branch tomorrow below the dam near Shinhopple for a weekend at Pepacton cabins and looking forward to some cold water and cooler weather. I have started fishing there on my Catskill trips more, I like the lack of boat traffic and the clear water, and found a great place to stay if you're a...

PA WTS

I got out very early yesterday morning for a couple hours to fish el hueco de la diablo. Air temp. was 62 and the water was colder than the air. Weather was overcast with a light drizzle which kept the air temperatures cool throughout the morning. Water level was as expected, extremely low. However I did manage...

Dr. Robert E. De Filippis Veterinarian, Roseland, NJ - DVM https://roselandanimalcare.com/team/robert-e-de-filippis/

I'm not sure if I posted this here yet but... This guy (Robert E. De Filippis) backed his trailer into my car; after doing so, he immediately parked approximately 100 yards away from the incident. He didn't leave a note or try to contact me until a mutual friend advised him that the incident was caught on camera...

Hale Eddy Boat Ramp

Drove past the Hale Eddy "launch" on Tuesday and saw a mini excavator, bobcat, and dump truck. They had brought in some large rocks and created a bit of a roundabout for trailers, and the dump truck was parked down in the ramp area.

I didn't jump out of the car to see if they were making it more of a ramp or less...

Brand new to fly fishing

Good day. I've wanted flyfish for many years but never had the opportunity and I've now decided to MAKE that opportunity. I have NO experience and NO knowledge and NO equipment. I'm not sure if this is the best place to start but I'm starting. Thank you in advance.

Windy D days are the worst but here's a little fish porn!

Windy D days are the worst but here's a little fish porn!

I'd rather fish in the snow than with the wind but, This week didn't disappoint.

Had a great time this past Saturday. Caddis emerges were the in thing. Different shapes and sizes. I don't like to brag so I only post the dinks... Plus, the others were simply too large to get into the picture frame.

New to NEFF. I live and fish in So. Cal 7-months of the year, spend the other 5-months in Ocean City NJ. I'm looking to start fresh water fly fishing there beginning late May through October. Any help finding fun spots to start would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
