I never understood devout atheism. You are just as ridiculous as religious zealots. You share many of the same characteristics, including rubbing your baseless beliefs in everyone's face and have having a complete conviction in something that cant be proven or dis proven. In fact, the only two members on this board who ever mention God are the two who don't believe in a God. Maybe you should join up with other devout atheists and meet once a week and talk about how you believe in nothing. At least most of the hardcore believers I run in to from any religion are polite or at least docile. They rub their stupid beliefs in your face with a smile on in a nice, condescending way . Why not speak up against Judaism, for which there has been a 60+ year war to establish and maintain a home country? How many countries out there claim to be a home for christians? How many countries out their use the christian religion as law?

I saw a commercial during the game making reference to John 3:16.
The Christians think that god helps Tebow to win games.
I posted an article that substantiates that Christians do, in fact, believe that god helps Tebow win football games.

Doubt there are many true "fundamentalist atheists" or "devout atheists" around. Instead in today's society we have anti-theists masquerading as atheists. An atheist tends to look at religon with mild bewilderment or indifference altogether, never exhibiting the animosity typical of the anti-theist. I doubt you'll ever get a straight answer from an anti-theist as to why he or she despises those whom believe. DC - two quick history lessons. First, our nation was founded on Christian principals whether atheists like that or not. Second, Muslims believe in the same God that Jews and Christians do. No need for this believer to wade further into this cesspool, but I have to admit that there were some classic lines in this post
Of course it was, Rusty. Those principles are typically what makes this country so much greater than the rest. I don't have an issue with most Christian based principles. I think you'll find that many religions have some good principles, even the religions that are considered EVIL!
And yes, it is the same god but what if (Hypothetically speaking) we replaced "In God We Trust" with "In Allah We Trust". Do you think non Muslims would be ok with that?

GB what would you rather him have used to build a nation. History shows that Jefferson and Adams used two main references to influence their philosophy on how to form a Government. The first being the Bible, the second being Treatises on Government by John Locke. I know the time line is skewed a bit, Perhaps would you rather they used The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx or Mein Kampf and we all know who wrote that. So what should they have used?
