Thanks - another political post I was looking forward to find on a fly fishing forum. Dude, I know you post them under Government and Fishing, but I can't simply find anything fishing related about the First Lady's staff (or does she have a Director of Fishing? I couldn't find it on the list).

If I want to read about politics, I'll go to the proper media.

Get off your soap box and go fishing. It certainly is more enjoyable than politics anyway.

This post is misleading nonsense. The author cites factcheck.org as a primary source. Unfortunately, factcheck.org makes it clear that Ms. Obama's staff is not unusual give the size of staffs kept by other first ladies.

Its actually quite twisted. Some hack makes up a non-story on thelastcrusade.org ("where you can engage in the life and death struggle against the forces of Islam, apostasy, moral complacency, cultural relativity, and the New World Order,"qutoed from factcheck). The non-story tries to insinuate the the staff is unusually large and made up of "attendants" that do the first lady's hair and nails. It is easy to see how intellectually dishonest the article is when the only comparisons it makes to other first ladies are to Eisenhauer and Lincoln!

So, this non-story gets some traction, and it is picked up by factcheck.org, which basically reports that the actual number of staff is slighly higher than reported, but that it is not an unusual size for recent fadministrations. Then, the same hack writes a new story on a CFP, which cites factcheck and essentially says, "its worse than we thought, and factcheck.org agrees".

Boooooogus. Aren't there enough real political differences to discuss?

Just curious why is it that any posts about the current administration are considered hate posts. Could it be that a lot of folks are just plain concerned or worried about the direction of the country? Why are folks that disagree considered right wing lunatics who just hate president. Aparently if you go against any aspect of the institution you are a conspiracy theory right wing nut job. Sad part is most people believe what they hear in the corporate main stream media. It's time for Americans to wake up and take back THEIR country. These bullying tactics are b.s. and we need not stand for it anymore. Corporate greed, wall street greed, and the hopes of a New World Order fit no where in what America is and should be. Our Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves with the hijack of the American Republic that is and has been going on.
