Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!
I was at point mountain at the elbow and an osprey with a big brood stock was flying straight downstream right at me. Definitely having trouble getting height due to the fish. Saw me, dropped the fish back in, banked hard right and veered out of the tree cover in a move that would've led the iceman to tell him that he's still dangerous, but he can be his wingman any time.
I've seen a pair on the Delaware main stem quite regularly for the last two years. Probably a breeding pair. Have also seen a hugh Golden Eagle buzzing around this past fall.
One of the coolest experiences I've had fly fishing was on the Esopus. A full blown bald eagle landed on the far bank by woodland valley creek, took a few sips of water, and then was cleared for take off. Needless to say, I was standing there slack-jawed and stunned.
