Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

What happened to NEFF?

Died? Golden beetle.... It died before you became a member.

The ghost of JoeT lives on though!

ronbo still owes me a free bamboo rod..and fuckin beetle you better back me up on this one.... you know he promised me!

Sure didn't. Only got a couple emails after I sent the deposit and then all hell broke loose on NEFF and some people jumped ship and swam over to GST.

That wasn't that long ago.

That's the last I say in this thread.

First we get the loon Andy B, and now we get the loony tune Tobias.

When was the last time he posted/visited here?

I think if you reached out to him he would refund your money. I had Ron build me a fly rod. He was getting quite busy with his full time job and somehow or another we got our signals crossed on the design. Long story short I had given a down payment but Ron was adamant that if I wasn't happy just let him know and he would refund the money which he did.

Well, at least you avoided the headache of having to sell it.

I saw Ron in the early spring. He said that is work schedule exploded due to Sandy. Ron is a stand up guy. I do not think he would intentionally screw you. Chris I would contact him. I am sure he would work something out with you.

Tom,

I'd NEVER do business with the guy. I'll tell you what I think Ron is good for... I think he's good to sit next to in the bar and bullshit with, while you have a few drinks and a burger.

I understood that shit happens... Death in the family, the wrath of nature, stubbed toe, etc... If you're a business person, how do you unintentionally forget that you took deposits from people? Isn't a deposit from a customer something you write down in a log book or keep in your business planner? Don't you take the deposit and buy the parts you need for the product you're supposedly producing, or place the money in a business account that's used for BUSINESS?

Business is business. Mistakes happen but you know... too many excuses and too long to produce even an email raises red flags... I've now heard from different people, a few different issues and the issues have a few things in common.

1. It's taken far too long for this guy to produce anything.
2. Does not communicate and/or provide status's. Lacks communication skills.

Reminds me of the story of story about billy joe and bobbie sue.

Something sounds suspicious mr Cabarle. If it were my money I would be asking for a refund. Seems strange that a deposit was provided and no further communication took place. To be clear we have no proof this ihas happened to others do we. As I indicated I gave Ron a deposit and it clearly took longer tan I would like for him to start building my bamboo rod and when he started getting it in shape it as not what I was requesting. He made it very clear he would refund the money no questions asked and he did. For all we know Tobias was the victim of some scam perpetrated by the beetle. Tobias isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. That's why he joined the marines and not the air force.
