This fly has been kicking butt for me for the last couple of months. The black wings are great in high glare, and the lighter hackle can be seen in the non glare situations. Enjoy.

I don't fish catskill style dries much but I can't resist this one. If I can see it despite the conditions I can't imagine this fly not being very effective. I mainly fish parachutes for their visabilaty(spelling?) and versatility but I can't wait to try these if it's not too late in the season

I got a chance to fish with J.U. and he was using the Dark Star. Hands down it worked pretty f'n good, he was knocking dead. The wild browns could not resist the dark side...

It shouldnt be to late, I used it the day before and it got me into fish. I primarily use it as a searching pattern and as an emerger. If you know my Nicheo dun, I also do the Nicheo dark star style and that to works really well and can be a bit easier to see in situations. Any question on tying it or fishing it, dont hesitate to ask.
