Hit the Beaverkill this weekend. Caught a few on Saturday on March Brown Nymphs. That evening the March Browns were coming off and some fish rising. I put on a comparadun, cast to a fish, he took and boy I thought I had a huge trout on. After a good fight and some excitement on my part I landed a 3.5 to 4pd smallmouth. First time I caught a smallie on a dry fly. Sunday caught a lot of fish on March Brown Nymphs with a olive soft hackle dropper. Most seemed to prefer the soft hackle. All fish from 12-16" fat and healthy.We will be moving in the next 3 weeks so for me the next trip wont be for another month or so.
